Geni Whitehouse is a consulting team member with BDCo. She is the author of How to Make a Boring Subject Interesting: 52 ways even a nerd can be heard, which is available on Amazon.com. Geni has been named one of the 25 most powerful women in accounting by CPA Practice Advisor, one of the Top 100 Influencers by Accounting Today magazine, and one of the Top 25 Thoughtleaders in Accounting. Her primary area of focus is expanding BDCo's strategic management services. Geni is an instructor at the WISE Academy,where she teaches accounting concepts to winery staff and is a former board member of the Napa/Sonoma Chapter of Women for WineSense where she served as Education Director. She was a member of TEDxNapaValley.org and spoke at their event in September of 2011. You can read Geni's blog posts here. Geni is a CPA licensed by the Georgia State Board of Accountancy.

Randy Gnagy has been a CPA for over 34 years and has worked with BDCo since 2000. He is the firm's senior tax specialist, and has a great deal of experience in interstate taxation and tax preparation for nonprofit organizations. Over the years he has been active in Junior Achievement, the Arts Council of Napa Valley, and the Napa Valley Shakespeare Festival, and is currently on the board of Napa Emergency Women's Services. He has also done volunteer work at local schools. He holds a BA in history from California State University, Fresno. Randy is a CPA licensed by the California Board of Accountancy.

Jake Thomas has a unique background which combines advanced studies in Physics and WSET Level 3 certifications in Wine & Spirits. He has taught physics classes at Stanford and created more than 500 custom cocktails at high end resorts in the Bay Area. Whether he finds himself behind a desk, in front of a classroom, or working the bar, Jake is motivated by the impact he is able to have on others. Jake is a life-long learner who looks for new ways to stretch beyond his comfort zone. We are grateful to have access to his curiosity, knowledge, and mixology magic as a member of the firm’s administrative team. When he has time outside of work and is not busy researching Quantum Field Theory, Quantum Electrodynamics, Chaos Theory or mixing whiskey cocktails, Jake is fond of trips to Canada for back country snowboarding.

Diane Leenders is a graduate of Saint Mary's College in Moraga, California. She is an experienced tax professional who has previously held audit positions in both public accounting and industry. Diane is an open water swimmer who regularly competes, along with members of her family, in masters swimming events. She enjoys the feeling of gliding through the waves and the resulting sense of calm. Water is a recurring theme in her life, as she met her husband on a water skiing adventure. Diane is an early riser and her daily ritual begins with coffee and a view of the rising sun. Diane cherishes this time alone and feels that "each day provides an opportunity to make that day meaningful." Diane is a CPA, licensed by the California Board of Accountancy.

Erica Riddle, CPA is a partner in Brotemarkle Davis & Co. specializing in tax and assurance services, operational reviews and business consulting. Erica also serves as the firm's wine industry analyst, spearheading the firm's efforts to provide and share key insights into the wine business with our customers. Erica joined BDCo in 2013 with a Masters in Accounting from California State University, Sacramento and is certified in Strategic Performance Management. Prior to joining BDCo, she was the Labor Optimization Manager at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Although her office was located right next to a roller coaster, Erica says her favorite attraction at the park was the tigers she first got to know as cubs. As a knitting hobbyist, Erica says the key to her success is patience and concentration, which also makes her a wizard at spreadsheets, programming, and all things accounting. She also holds the unprecedented distinction of being a candy maker and is a "third-generation Riddle Brittler". Erica is a CPA licensed by the California Board of Accountancy.

Chandra Englehart is a resident of Illinois and holds a degree from the University of Evansville (UE) and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern Indiana. She has prior experience in both audit and tax and has held accounting roles in both private equity funds and banks. At one point, she even worked on a cemetery audit and was engaged in counting headstones. She is excited about applying her spirit-counting expertise in Wine Country and to helping people make sense of the numbers. She is an avid baseball fan and competitor, and as a former player on the NCAA Division 1 UE softball team, still holds the home run record. Her accolades don’t stop there as she was recognized as a 4 time all Academic player and at one point even held the record for getting “Hit by Pitch”. A mother of two young children, Chandra is inspired by her Mom, and is constantly looking for new ways to grow and learn. Chandra is a CPA licensed by the Illinois Board of Examiners.

Rebekah Kramer, CPA is a partner in Brotemarkle Davis & Co. specializing in assurance services and business consulting. She is originally from Napa, California and is a Justin-Sienna High School alumnus. She is a graduate of Concordia University, Irvine where she majored in Business Administration with a dual emphasis in Marketing and Accounting. She spent three years working for a Southern California accounting firm before returning to the Napa Valley. While she may not find many opportunities to apply her SoCal yacht-counting expertise (she once had to count yachts docked in ports from San Diego to Newport), her diverse audit skills honed from working with customers in Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, and Real Estate are a big plus. Rebekah first stretched her entrepreneurial muscles when she founded a chapter of co-ed business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, at Concordia. She hopes to apply what she learned not only to her role as an auditor but also to some day opening an animal shelter. When she is not busy auditing, you might find Rebekah exploring a new trail or revisiting one of her favorite national parks – Denali in Alaska. Rebekah is a CPA licensed by the California Board of Accountancy.

Mattie Eagle is a graduate of Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa where she majored in History and Studio Art. After graduation, travel, and several applications of her entrepreneurial talents, she went back to school at Western New Mexico University to gain the accounting credits that qualified her to become a CPA. In 2022, she added a Masters of Taxation to her credentials. She was raised in Minnesota and now lives in Silver City, New Mexico with her husband and two children. She is a full-time member of the BDCo tax team. She particularly enjoys researching tax laws as they change in search of new opportunities to help our customers. Mattie loves supporting her customers as they take calculated risks, pursue the expansion of their passions, and become owners of their financial futures. An avid cyclist, Mattie is inspired by those who lead a “self-directed life” and enjoys applying her considerable talents to local sports, charitable organizations, and entrepreneurs who are seeking to build successful businesses. Mattie is a CPA licensed both by the New Mexico Board of Accountancy and the California Board of Accountancy.

Dawn Marshall is a Napa native. She briefly left the Napa Valley for a sojourn to Miami, Florida but returned to Napa to begin her professional career. Her first job was in a florist, before moving to high-end hospitality, then winery accounting and for the past 17 years she has been serving in a number of different roles in city government, culminating in the role of Human Resources and Administrative Manager. She is a two time recipient of “Award of Financial Reporting” by the Government Finance Officers Association. When she’s not helping “humans with resources”, she is likely to be gardening, quilting, or arranging items in her home to be more aesthetically pleasing. Dawn is the mother of 3 children – 2 sons and a daughter who all seem to have inherited some of her creative abilities. As a young woman, Dawn went off to purchase her first automobile, a Renault, at a local Napa automobile dealer. While she was unsuccessful in securing her dream automobile, she ultimately walked away with a first date with her now husband of 29 years.

Ricardo Romero has applied his strong analytical skills in his roles as first a financial analyst and later as a tax accountant. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he also earned the College of Agriculture Academic Excellence Award. He holds a Master of Professional Accountancy from California State University in Northridge, California. As a native of Bakersfield, California he has a deep connection to agriculture and related businesses which serves him well in working with our Napa Valley customers. Ricardo’s title reflects his competitive nature and his role at the firm while paying homage to his alma mater, the Cal State Northridge Matadors. It also reflects a “no bull” mindset when it comes to tax work. Had he not found his way to accounting, Ricardo might have applied his research skills to a career teaching history. He is excited about applying his agricultural insights and expertise to the wine industry. Ricardo is a CPA, licensed by the California Board of Accountancy.
